2022 has been flying by. If you’ve missed any dental cleanings, now is a great time to schedule an appointment to keep your smile bright.
Make the most of the cleanings your dental plan offers. How can you find out how many your plan allows? Dental plans publish information on the benefits on their websites or can share that information with you if you call the phone number on your card.
If you haven’t looked at those benefits recently, make some time today. You may be surprised to find out that your plan covers more cleanings than you think. Some plans cover four cleanings per year.
Although we don’t accept dental insurance, we are always happy to provide receipts for your cleanings that you can submit to your dental insurance for reimbursement.
Some of our patients have flexible spending accounts (FSAs), where their company allows them to pay for their care with pre-tax dollars. Patients can submit receipts for their medical and dental expenses during the calendar year. You may wish to submit a receipt for your dental care, or the balance not covered by insurance, to an FSA. Make sure you know how your plan works, so you don’t lose out on benefits that can save you money.
Although we all procrastinate in some areas of our lives, don’t let your dental health be one of them. Employers provide dental benefits for a reason: Healthy teeth and gums are important foundations of good overall health. Getting regular cleaning, on top of daily brushing and flossing, is a simple routine that can go a very long way toward keeping your teeth and gums healthy–and preventing problems like toothaches that can leave you dragging.
And while you’re in our office, make sure to stop by our front desk and schedule your cleanings for the coming year. Planning ahead is a great way to make sure you keep your mouth healthy and your smile as bright as it can be in 2023.
